This is absolutely great! It is SOOO Magical. People are 'astounded'. It's not the big 'overdone'
reaction the way I present it, but rather the subtle, "I just can't believe this" kind of response.
"No way"! "HOW is he doing that?" I am using two of the suggested routines on the training video
and I use one to lead in to the other. They both use the die, but the audience/spectator is/are so
'unfocused' on the die and focused on other parts of what is happening, it takes no heat at all.
EVER! It just can't be possible.
I made a change in how the items placed all in a row, is
presented. I use little bag of toys,'jungle animals' (Dollar General) and set them up in a line. I
have also prepared a set of 6 index cards as prepared in "Black Flame". (Penguin Magic). So, at the
start, I have the Spectator choose a 'Blank' index card and we set that aside. Then the spectator
rolls the die and comes up with an unseen number. Then, using the suggested method, I simply make
sure the animal on my 'Blank Card' ends up at the correct 'unseen' number. At that moment, when we
are finished, there is STILL nothing to see! All the animals now in a different order and we have a
number. Nothing magical about that! Then, I pick up the Blank Index Card the spectator chose and
THAT animal is revealed at that number, (Black Flame- Penguin). It will be at the correct number.
Double amazing!
I use a little different premise on the color match. I have two of the 6
colors come out as they should in two places on the drawing. So then it looks like I 'missed' on
the other four colors. I have some 'by-play' here excusing myself for a few missed colors except
then I remember, I did one of these before the show and it has been on the table in an envelope in
full view the whole time. The picture in the envelope will match the picture we made together. They
just can't believe it.
This is a good one, guys/gals! Let your imagination go a bit. I
feel I am just getting started. I have also been playing around with how long 'things' stay charged
and 'connected' with this set. This took a couple of days to figure out but I have a need to know as
I may not always be able to charge things, the day of the event. Keeping the principle items close
to each other I have gone 3 days so far with no charge and I'm still good for a PM performance as
suggested above. That's an extreme case for me. So, I don't have to worry about things 'working'
when I need them too. I do have a 'fail safe' built into that 'Animal Routine' mentioned whereby I
do not need the discussed 'assist'. So if there is a fail, I can still do a version of that and I
simply would drop the Color Test. That hasn't happened.
Last point. I perform seated so I
keep what I need just below my right knee. It is EZ/PZ to reach down and do what I must to be sure I
am ready to go, when I am ready to go. I use the high setting and even when the group goes 'quiet'
watching, no one has flinched as the information comes in. OR, I will reach down and stop it, no
problem. Also while I am turned away and the spectator is rolling the die I can easily extend my
hand to my knee to gain the information if necessary and that will further 'mute' any 'noise'. It
hasn't been an issue for me. I am enjoying this one. I believe it is a fair price for what you are
getting. The Video is great and audience members 'amazed'. It's a buy!
